Immigration course „Welcome to the Czech Republic“
We invite you to participate in the immigration course financed by the Ministry of the Interior for newly arrived foreigners to the Czech Republic. The course will provide you with necessary information important for your stay especially during the first months upon your arrival. You can ask the lecturers questions concerning your residence legislation, visas, residence permit, health insurance etc. You will receive contacts for free of charge counselling.

Registration for this course is obligatory. There will be 2 lecturers (lawyers and social workers) and 2 interpreters into English at the disposal to the participants.
10.00 -13.00:
Residence legislation: Visas, long-term residence permit, permanent residence permit, citizenship. Terms, conditions and fees. Biometrics. Travel in EU/Schengen area. Invitation to family and friends. Family reunification. Conditions for study.
Healthcare, health and social insurance: Healthcare system in the Czech Republic. Public and private health insurance.
13.00 – 14.00 LUNCH BREAK
14.00 – 18.00
Employment: How to look for a job. Types of work contracts. Students and employment.
Education: Czech educational system. Language courses. Recognition of previous education.
Housing: Renting a flat. Housing contracts. Fees related to rental and services.
Everyday practical life: Emergencies. Transportation. Official correspondence with the Ministry of the Interior etc.
Important contacts: Ministry of the Interior, Foreign Police Service. Integration centres and non-profit non-governmental organizations providing free of charge services to foreigners.
The course is financed by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic!
The Ministry also finances non-governmental organizations to provide free of charge counselling to foreigners so that they avoid mistakes during their stay.
